Tanner, a Mechanical Engineering student, will present a summary of his work on Predicting Material Properties from Molecular dynamics Simulations.
Keynote Speaker – Chris Deemer, PhD. from Orbital ATK
Dr. Deemer comes to us with over 20 years of experience developing advanced technologies for inspection, characterization, and risk mitigation of polymer and matrix ceramic composites.
His research has involved technologies in structural health monitoring, nondestructive inspection and dimensional inspection. One of his focus areas has been guided plate wave inspection or detection for locating and quantifying damage levels in composite systems.
Inspection is a critical component in manufacturing. Over the last 20 years there have been waves of books and seminars promising improved productivity in finding defects before parts are subjected to costly processes. Getting from this theoretical utopia to While each application will have its own needs and requirements, this presentation will describe techniques used to watch for anomalies, techniques used to perform inspection and discussion of composite inspections from cradle to grave.
Dr. Deemer has over one hundred technical publications and presentations. He holds five patents for novel inspection techniques and devices. He received his PhD. From Northwestern University in 2003.
