May 23, 2017 (Seattle, WA) – SAMPE 2017, the only technical conference and exhibition exclusively dedicated to advanced materials and processes, opened its sold-out Exhibit Hall and Conference Program today at Washington State Convention Center. The event, produced by the North America Society for the Advancement of Material and Process Engineering (SAMPE), provides business, networking, and learning opportunities for leading companies, engineers, scientists, and professionals from throughout the advanced materials and processes industry.
Sold-out Exhibit Hall
With 254 exhibiting companies, new displays like the GT Lite, Hyperloop pods designed by the University of Washington and Virginia Tech, and a special Recycling Composites Showcase, attendees were inundated with new products, ideas, and solutions.
“Space for the Exhibit Hall sold out weeks before the event,” says Rick Willardson, SAMPE North America President and Senior Principal Mechanical Engineer at Raytheon Space and Airborne Systems. “This positive development is excellent for SAMPE and another sign that this event is growing each year.”
Conference Program Highlights New Opportunities and New Applications
Rob Meyerson, president of Blue Origin, presented the opening keynote, focusing on the role of advanced manufacturing in the development of reusable space vehicles.
The conference continues through Thursday and includes over 220 presentations on high-profile topics concerning critical areas of advanced materials, emerging materials, and advanced manufacturing processes.
